I bought this Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow in Painted Purple while I was last in Sydney. I hadn’t had a chance to really play around with it and decided to have a little fun on the weekend.
The first thing I noticed is that it’s not easy to apply. It’s very creamy and once you try to start to build up the colour it’s difficult to blend it into your eyelid. I found that I could only sweep my brush in the one direction, as opposed to the back and forth action I’d normally use. When I tried to do that it’d take the colour off. So trying to blend it with other colours was a big no!
In saying all of that it does have an amazing, rich colour. This would be great if you only wanted the one colour pop, which apparently is the look this spring; no blended colours.
I had fun using this with my Kat Von D liquid eyeliner and Sephora mascara, also with a swipe of my Maybelline Electric Orange lipstick. I thought the colour combo would be amazing, and I wasn’t wrong!
