The Yarraville Festival is an annual community event in the awesome western suburb of Melbourne. It’s an event that’s usually run by volunteers to showcase all that is funky and fabulous about Yarraville. Each year market stalls, live music and even poetry readings are held along Ballarat and Anderson Streets – a huge street party if you will! This year as a lead up to the big day the beautiful art deco surrounds of the Sun Theatre was the set for a catwalk show for the I Heart Yarraville Fashion Parade on Wednesday night, with all proceeds going to the Heart Foundation.
It was a fun and relaxed night (most of the models were friends and family) filled with fashion supplied by all the local vendors; Village Idiom, Angelica, Niche Interiors, Mico. Marita’s of Yarraville, Deborah Selleck Bridal & Evening Couture and One White Lie. There were goody bags and champagne on arrival supplied (my favourite part!) by the fabulous Azhara Estate.
It was great to see some designs from local Yarraville and West Footscray talent out on display and it has definitely made me want to go shopping in my local area, bring on pay day! Stay tuned for some future OOTDs featuring local fashion.
Yarraville Festival is on this Sunday, 16th February 2014. Check out the website for more information on this year’s event.
