NYX Wonder Pencil

As a woman there’s nothing I’d like more than to be a wonder woman. I want to be able to get through my day without breaking a sweat. I want to be able to multi-task like a boss, to kick ass and take names. So when I read about the NYX Wonder Pencil and how it does THREE fabulous jobs in one pencil I had to get my hands on it!! *cue Wonder Woman theme song* Here’s the spiel from the NYX website;

Wonder Woman, meet the Wonder Pencil…the essential pencil that fulfils all of your beauty desires. Conquer 3 critical make-up tasks with one product: CONCEAL flaws and blemishes with creamy precision; LINE your lips against lipstick bleeding and fading; and BRIGHTEN your eyes along the water line. Will wonders never cease? Not with the Wonder Pencil in your bag!

I bought this bad boy from Target’s NYX line for $8.95, which isn’t that bad I guess, but when I had a look online for the US price it looks to be half that amount! Oh, the struggle is real!!

Anywho, I really do love this pencil but I must say that for me it doesn’t cover the three “tasks” its been assigned. My favourite way to use the Wonder Pencil is as an eye brightener. This is a much better alternative to a white pencil most gals use to brighten there waterlines. I find it blends a lot better than a white liner and has a much more natural finished look. I also love it as a lip liner to combat bleeding of my red lipsticks. Another great way to wear it is as a nude lip; I line my lips and then pop on an ultra shiny gloss on top.

Where it fails for me is as a concealer. The pencil is creamy but it isn’t pliable enough to blend in. I found that when I did try to cover spots it just looked caked on. To quote Meatloaf, two out of three ain’t bad, right?

nyx wonder pencil4The Wonder Pencil comes in three different shades; light, medium and deep. I’ve gone for the medium and as you can tell from the swatch above it’s a pretty good match without being blended in.

Have you tried the Wonder Pencil? Do you think it’s wonderful?
