OOTD: Rosie The Red Nose Reindeer

Can you believe the jolly fat man in the red suit is only 8 sleeps away?! I say this every year but I cannot believe how quickly the silly season seems to creep up on me. One minute I’m swilling champers at the Spring Racing Carnival and the next I’m chucking a tantrum at having to wrap so many ill-shaped presents!

We don’t even have any decorations up yet at home, aside from a few baubles, and to be honest I’m not feeling super festive which makes me sad. I’m not the only one either as a lot of people I’ve spoken too are finding it difficult to get into the spirit of Christmas. It’s not as if I’m a Grinch, it’s just that time is really getting away from me and all I’d like to do is press pause and soak up this time of year. So I thought what better way to bring a smile to your, and my, dial than to dress up? Who doesn’t dream of being one of Santa’s elves or his trusty reindeer?!

This year my sister and I are hosting Christmas lunch at our place and we’re still finishing up our not-so festive menu. We’ve decided to keep it fairly simple and forego the traditional turkey and ham etc. for something a little less time consuming. Plus, for all my northern hemisphere babes, Christmas in Oz is generally a scorcher and trying to cook anything while your house heats up is a painful experience. Hence a BBQ (perhaps a few prawns, NOT shrimp, on the barbie!) and plenty of cold beverages will be on offer.

Are you filled with the Christmas spirit or are you a little Grinch-y? What are your go to Christmas dishes? Any suggestions and new ideas are super welcomed!

  1. Adorable! I live in the Northeast U.S., so normally it gets pretty cold around here this time of year. But this year we’re having a “warm” spell – I’m sure our temperatures would feel freezing compared to Oz (love that) but for us it feels unusual! Therefore, I’ve been feeling Grinch-y too. No Christmas spirit for me if I’m not bundled up! I can’t even imagine trying to get in the holiday mood if it was a scorcher out! I’d be thinking about margaritas and getting my tan on 🙂 Your outfit is making me want to turn on some Christmas music though!!

  2. Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes my love?! This is so adorable and made me chuckle and feel warm in my belly. This year went entirely too fast and I’m feeling a bit glum about it all! This was just what I needed xx

    • Awwww my love I know how you feel. When did we get to dreading the yuletide spirit? I think we need a month off at this time of year to truly get into the festive occasion and spend plenty of time with loved ones xxx

  3. Ahh you look awesome! I’m not feeling festive as I’ve just got back from my travels but I’ll be wearing my Christmas jumper tomorrow for sure! Though they keep saying the UK is unseasonably warm right now…
