Clearly my new desk buddy doesn’t know who I am (or read my blog)! The lovely lass was complimenting me on my lipstick and I of course I started raving about my recent purchase of the new Rimmel THE ONLY 1 lippy. She asked me whether I threw out my old lipsticks once I bought a new one (SHOCK HORROR!) and was astounded to learn that I own more than 30 and that I’m constantly rotating my stash.
I’ve been dying out to try out the new Rimmel lippies as they’ve been all over Instagram and the blogosphere and with a name like THE ONLY 1 I was intrigued. Are they telling me this is the only lipstick I need? Challenge accepted!
The first thing I noticed was the funky, slim-line tube with that fabulous Rimmel logo on the top – very chic. I also love the fact that the little colour band around the tube is indicative of the shade of lippy. It claims to be moisturising and long wear and that it is. Finally a product that does what it says on the packaging!! It’s super long wearing and I can go from post-brekky application to lunch (4 hours give or take) with copious drinking and snacking in between and it’s still good to go. After lunch I still have some staining which is so rare with recent lipstick purchases.
I chose the darkest shade, One-Of-A-Kind, which has dark berry tones and it reminds me of the Kat Von D Studded Kiss in Vampira but without the matte dryness. This gets a big tick from me and now I want to try some of the other colours (eyeing off Naughty Nude).
