What’s that saying? If you wore the trend the first time around you can’t wear it the second? Well, seeing as I was a teen in the 90s with zero to no fashion sense surely I can give the choker another go?
When I heard that chokers were making a come back (let’s face it, the whole 90s are making a comeback and unfortunately there isn’t a Shannen Doherty appearance in sight!) I wasn’t too sure how I felt about it all. Let’s face it the 90s weren’t a fabulous time for fashion; we’re talking hyper-colour clothing, mood rings and lots of brown lipstick and there were chokers for DAYS!
Remember those plastic woven looking ones? Or the velvet/cameo “old lady” ones with the Velcro on the back? They don’t conjure up images of sexiness now do they? If anything I was sure that I’d be giving this trend’s resurgence a wide berth but then as usual I got an email from Lovisa advertising their latest sale and I was hooked by this leather choker! I love that it’s so simple but it still makes a statement. This one came tied in a bow but I like it undone, I feel like it’s a little edgier and more “rock n’ roll” that way.

I was only a little girl in the 90s but the act that it’s come back as a trend makes me feel old all of a sudden, it wasn’t even that long ago?!
Personally I don’t mind the whole brown lipstick and choker trend either, your choker in particular is really lovely!

I’m not hooked on the choker come back because I never let it go in the first place. lol The “plastic woven” looking ones are called tattoo chokers and I still wear one every day and have for the past several years. When it breaks I buy a new one. I love the way they look on me. I feel like they give me an 1800’s gothy look. I could just have terrible fashion sense. But I will never give up my choker! As soon as I lose weight and get rid of my double chin (ugh) I will probably wear different and thicker chokers. I just love them.

I honestly didn’t know they were still around…gotta get my head outta Kmart 😂😂 If you love the tattoo chokers then this one will be right up your alley. I know a lot of gals don’t like the “snugness” of them and I must admit it took me a while to get used to having something so close around my neck 💋💋
The tattoo choker I forget is even there. So if you like the look of a choker it would be the best one to wear and forget about. I tend to always sneeze when I wear a choker that doesn’t stretch and break them every time! lol

Lol I know! It’s crazy. I always imagine myself as one of those dinosaurs that have the thing where their neck comes out like an umbrella. My neck expands when I sneeze.
