Dollface, I know I keep jabbering on about how quickly the year is passing but September is almost fucking over! How in the name of Huey Lewis did that happen? I’m still sitting here in a stupor absolutely gob smacked that I’m already locking events in for 2017!
Thankfully it’s been a rather quiet month here in Rosie-land and I’ve had a couple of quiet weekends to soak in all of the R&R and catch up on some beauty sleep ready for the spring carnival next month. Speaking of which, what better way to usher in spring than with the Spring Carnival Runway at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week earlier in the month?! As I mentioned in my post, it was a gorgeous runway show that has sparked some inspiration for my Derby Day outfit so stay tuned for that.
Also earlier in the month I went to see a childhood comedy hero of mine, Alexei Sayle, at the Melbourne Writers’ Festival. He was an absolute hoot and it was fabulous seeing him being interviewed. We made it through the whole show without anyone being a dick…until the lady sitting next to me cracked it at the photographer who was doing his job taking photos throughout the show. Apparently he was too loud? Ummm lady I have misophonia, if he didn’t piss me off then all’s good! Honestly, some people shouldn’t leave their houses.
Screw you sinus’!
Learning new vocab words while running errands!
Another September, another half birthday! How cute is this card my sister got me? Also, it wouldn’t be half birthday celebrations without margaritas, am I right?! These were especially good and went down a little too easily.
Still not quite warm enough to take a dip but beach weather is around the corner…
I managed to finish two books this month; Stephen King’s End of Watch and Rick Springfield’s autobiography Late, Late At Night, which was an interesting read although I was a little pissed off with his view of Australia being a dinky little country stuck in the Dark Ages!
As usual, there has been so many fabulous blog posts I’ve read over the past month…
- I love the idea of making my own geofilter on Snapchat for a special occasion – this tutorial shows you how!
- If you’ve ever uttered the words “I don’t look good in photos” then this post is for you.
- After hopping back into online dating (ugh, I know!) this post had me giggling over the 10 things every girls thinks after a first date!
- Warmer weather is imminent and I can’t wait to style my hair in these cute double Dutch braids!
Anyone else see this floating around the interwebs? It was a tough choice but in the end I went with Jem (Jem and The Holograms); my love of rock n’ roll and outrageous clothes and hair all started with this little cartoon. Dorothy Zbornak (The Golden Girls); I would say I’m a combination of all four ladies but Dorothy is probably the strongest – that sarcastic wit is all me! Carrie Bradshaw (Sex & The City); as much as I wanted to be Carrie when I was younger she absolutely pisses me off when I watch it now, regardless her love of fashion and writing wins out.
Who are your three characters?

You liked End Of Watch? No spoilers though! I’ve read the first of the three, Mr Mercedes, and I’m gearing up (no pun intended) to start the second of the trilogy. You like that one? No spoilers!
Hahaha I’m a HUGE King fan and love all his stuff. These ones were page turners but let’s just say I liked his other stuff more. Enjoy 🙂
I do love the older, more horror orientated books. My favourites have long been It and Salem’s Lot.
Great books!! Mine are Needful Things and The Stand. Also love the Dark Tower series
Massive King fan here – favourites include The Dark Tower, The Stand, 11.22.63, Insomnia, IT, I could go on . . . I also enjoy margaritas and they look divine.
Fabulous books!! I so loved the idea behind 11.22.63! Super clever
We’ll have to share a margarita one day and discuss King 💋🍹
I’m so down. Also, there will be dancing.
Woohoo!
