The general consensus the world over was that 2016 was the year that positively sucked the big one, amirite?! My social timelines were inundated with everyone exclaiming that they couldn’t wait for 2017 to begin so they could finally get a fresh start and some fabulous juju into their lives.
So is it any wonder that the good people at Pantone proclaimed Greenery as the Pantone Color of the Year? This gorgeous citrusy-green shade is meant to evoke memories of spring and the great outdoors and lots of lush foliage. The colour is here to remind us to “take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate” – something we’re all in need of at this stage!
It looks like I predicted 2017s colour correctly AGAIN… well kinda, sorta! In my OOTD Pantone post from last May I guessed that this years colour would be peacock green – so, so close!!
I’m a huge fan of Greenery and can’t wait to inject different shades of green into my wardrobe this year. According to Pantone it’s a “life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.” Well, I’m ALL for that.
Now, it’s time to make my colour forecast for 2018, drumroll please…. I see Pantone choosing a vibrant shade of red!

I feel like I look like a goob in green, despite my Irish heritage but you are owning it! I think you might be right with a red tone – I’m going so far as to say a coral red / dark orange.
