OOTD: Can’t Take My Eye(let)s Off You

Ever find yourself wondering “who the hell have I become and how did I get here?” These were my exact thoughts after I wandered past these shorts at Kmart and then doubled back because they had me hooked. I was just so smitten with the little eyelet detailing I couldn’t help but grab them.

A year or two ago I wouldn’t have even batted an eyelid at these shorts, thinking that I couldn’t get away with wearing them, and now I think SCREW THAT!  I can wear whatever the hell I want (aside from parachute tracksuits, no one should wear that shit!). I’ve mentioned many times before the fact that I had so many preconceived rules about fashion and what I “can” and “can’t” wear. Now I banish all those rules and throw caution to the very stylish wind!

With summer almost around the corner here in Oz it’s time to dust off my shorts and playsuits and be prepared for all the fun events that lay ahead. Life’s too short to worry about silly things like who might be staring at my stretch marks and dimples. Stare all you want…I’m fabulous!

As my dear friend and life coach Adjpants likes to remind me: as amazing ladies in our 30s we are living in our glory years – when we’re old and grey we’re not going to regret wearing the bright lipstick every day or getting our legs/midriffs out. We’ll only rue that we didn’t carpe the fuck out of that diem!
