I had an inkling that I was a Belinda Carlisle fan early on in life because I have vague memories of asking my sister to give me a haircut to resemble Miss Heaven Is A Place On Earth herself. I thought she was just gorgeous and those auburn locks made a huge impression on me…oh and I thought her music was awesome too!
We all know she was the bad-ass lead vocalist of the Go-Go’s in the early 80s, but I think it was when she went solo that the magic truly happened. Belinda consistently brought out amazing pop tune after pop tune and was a HUGE hit machine. Songs like Mad About You, Leave A Light On, Summer Rain and La Luna dominated the late 80s for me. I got to see BC for the second time back in March as she put on a fun and poptastic show at the zoo and girlfriend has still got it!
I so wanted this hair when I was 8!
Being such a hit machine it really is a hard task to pin down only ONE song to share with you all but this is a recent favourite of mine and I love belting this out at the top of my lungs. Happy Sunday dollface and remember to hold on tight!

I couldn’t believe it when she appeared at our local civic centre a few years ago. Like you said-in the 8@’s she was huge, and our little centre used to be the venue for local groups and tribute acts. I thought ‘has this what time reduced her to?’
Can’t remember exactly when this was-our centre is now gone, replaced by a more modern gym/swimming pool/entertainment place. But time reduces us all, doesn’t it? And she still had the cheek bones, unlike me. Know what I mean, doll face? 🙂
Hahahaha I do indeed! I never understood why her light dimmed while Madonna’s continued to shine bright (I loved them both!) Alas some of us age a lot better than others and some of us need the money 😁😁
Yes! Yes! Belinda – yes!
She’s pretty rad isn’t she?! 🙂 xo
Yes ma’am! So catchy. Loved Heaven Is A Place On Earth and Summer Rain, classic primary school memories along with the Bangles and Bananarama.
YES and YES!!! All those girls rocked!! 🙂 xo
